We have had our son on the waitlist to attend this centre since it was first announced that North Star would be opening. We loved the premise of learning in line with the Finland Way education model. Our son started on day 1 of their opening and I cannot say just how pleased we are with every element of the service. We expected some teething issues given it was a brand new centre but service has been above and beyond our expectations since commencement. I’ve had this child and my older kids at various centres in the area and whilst some were great (others shocking) North Star is world’s apart in terms of communication and service, but mostly because every day my very clingy 2 year old is happy to go and then happy at home time to tell me all about his wonderful day. They understand that every child is different and encourage the individuality of the child and their interests and routines rather than force them to conform to what is easiest. We love it so much we already have our next child on the waitlist and they aren’t even born yet, but can’t risk there not being availability.
Your Family's Choice
Involving parents in our centre is vital to ensure the child's well-being, foster consistency between home and the childcare environment, and establish a trusting and supportive partnership between families and caregivers.
Parent classes and talks
We offer a range of classes and informative talks designed specifically for parents to attend throughout the year. These sessions are tailored to provide valuable insights, guidance, and support for parents in various aspects of child development, parenting, and family well-being.

Play and Stay Sessions
We encourage parents to participate in their child's centre experience. If you have free time during the week and would like to join us for a meal or engage in activities with your child and their friends, please reach out to your key educator or contact the centre office to coordinate your involvement. Your presence enhances the centre experience for both you and your child.
Events for the Children
At our centre, we actively celebrate a diverse range of religious observances, festivals, and national holidays. We regularly provide parents with information about these events on a monthly basis and warmly encourage their active participation. Joining in these celebrations helps create a rich and inclusive cultural experience for both children and their families.

What to pack in your child's bag
Upon enrolment, we will provide you with a detailed list of what to bring, and if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out directly to your centre for assistance.
Change of Clothes
Accidents happen! Please include a full change of clothes, including underwear and socks, to keep your child comfortable throughout the day.
Comfort Item
If your child has a favorite blanket, stuffed animal, or comfort item, feel free to include it. Familiar items can help ease separation anxiety.
Water Bottle
A reusable water bottle is essential to keep your child hydrated throughout the day. Please ensure it's labeled with their name.
Hat
For outdoor play, please pack a hat to protect your child from the sun.
Any Necessary Medication
If your child requires medication during the day, please bring it in its original packaging along with any required forms.

This is one of the best reflections for a first week we’ve ever had about our daughter. Thank you so much!
Thank you Connagh & Jaspreet for having Varis. It’s such a relief knowing that Varis is having such a lovely teachers.
So glad she has settled in perfectly.
Thank you I am so so glad she is back into childcare and making friends ❤️.
This is amazing. Thankyou! A really fun looking first week for all. He comes home super excited every day to tell us all about what he did that day. Thanks for a really smooth transition.
My daughter has become a strong character and she expresses her opinions.
She has become much more expressive—when she’s sad, she can communicate it clearly through words and facial expressions without hesitation. The same goes for when she’s happy. I’ve noticed her positive growth and transformation happening very quickly.
He has clearly become more attentive and independent. He now washes himself, eats on his own, and even tries to help me in the kitchen at times. I’ve also noticed that he expresses his feelings much more easily now.
Since our son started in the FinlandWay® programme he has started to trust himself more and make his own decisions. He has a very good relationship with his friends and he loves school.
