At North Star Early Education, our Kindergarten program is thoughtfully designed to prepare children for a confident and successful transition to primary school. Government-funded and delivered by qualified early childhood teachers, our Kinder curriculum goes beyond simple play to build independence, confidence, curiosity, and essential learning skills.
Children benefit from a play-based, child-centred program guided by both the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and our FinlandWay® curriculum. Through intentional learning experiences and expert teaching, every child is supported to grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically in a nurturing environment.

My grandson attends kindergarten there and I find the teachers are friendly and knowledgeable. The program caters for different needs and he comes home telling me all about his day. Especially Rosie the leaf bug and the fishes in his room.
My son loves coming to North Star. The staff are wonderful and the play spaces are thoughtfully set up and engaging!!
I highly recommend Northstar to anyone sending their children to Daycare / Kinder. My kids has been there since they opened and the staff have been amazing! They are all so welcoming and happy to see you every morning. My kids have learnt so much and are so comfortable and happy here. The ladies at Northstar are understanding and accommodate to different child's needs which has been a blessing! Nothing is too much for them to help with. I am so happy to have my children looked after and loved while I have to work. I cannot recommend enough.👌
We have recently brought our boys over to the centre and we are incredibly happy with how they have settled and connected with friends and educators so well.
Both of my girls started just under three weeks ago, and I couldn’t be happier with how quickly they have settled in. The educators and management team have been incredibly welcoming and supportive, creating a safe and nurturing environment where my girls feel comfortable and happy. It has made the transition so much easier, and I am very grateful for the care and dedication they show every day. 😊
The Staff at North Star Early Education Wallan are very kind and friendly and look after my little boy with care and kindness. All staff do there very best to answer any questions parents may have. Would highly recommend.

What is the North Star Kindergarten Program?
In Victoria, government-funded kindergarten supports children in their early years of learning, regardless of whether it is delivered in a sessional setting or within a long day care centre. Our integrated Kindergarten Program combines the best of funded early education with the extended care and structure of full-day learning.

How We Support School Readiness
Our Kindergarten program emphasises key foundations children need before starting school:
Independence and self-confidence – children are encouraged to manage daily routines, make choices, and problem solve.
Social and emotional skills – through group times, collaborative play, and guided interactions, children learn to communicate, share, and regulate their behaviour.
Language and early literacy – daily stories, conversations, and literacy-rich activities build strong communication skills.
